Morningstar transformed an expert-led company research workflow into a reusable AI capability that is now independently used across a corporate strategy organization.

Challenge

A corporate strategy team depended on manual expert research before every company evaluation. The process produced excellent outcomes but relied heavily on individual knowledge and did not scale.

Intervention

Morningstar analyzed the workflow, extracted the decision logic, standardized the knowledge model, and designed a reusable AI-native capability around it. Rather than simply automating documents, the objective was to transform an individual workflow into an organizational capability.
